STATEMENT ON ATLANTA PARKING GARAGE

Metromont Corporation CEO Rick Pennell released the following statement today:

“Recent news reports about a parking deck in Atlanta, Georgia built by Metromont Corporation have prompted inquiries from local news outlets and building officials about the safety of buildings constructed by Metromont.

“Metromont has an unwavering commitment to quality building construction.  Our professional engineers participate in and support the continuous quality improvement programs of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute.  All construction is performed in accordance with its published specifications and in strict compliance with the International Building Code.

“Metromont is a leading precast concrete manufacturer and building contractor with five plants in the Southeast, all certified by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, which is the highest standard of quality.  We have completed thousands of building projects in more than 25 states in our 50 years in precast construction.

“The incident that occurred June 29 in Atlanta is under investigation by building officials, consulting engineers and our own professional personnel.”
