Mike Ward was 20 when he took a summer job working on the column bed at Shockey Precast. Back then, he had no idea that a summer job would lead to a 34-year career in the precast concrete industry. After graduating from college with an associate degree, Mike began building his career with Shockey Precast, moving into Quality Control and eventually joining the Estimating department. He was promoted to Chief Estimator and then to Estimating Manager of the seven-person estimating department. In 2018, after Shockey Precast was acquired by Metromont, he was offered the position of Estimating Coordinator with Metromont, managing the workload for 13estimators across Metromont and Shockey Precast. In 2019, he was promoted to Director of Estimating for Metromont. “Shockey Precast and Metromont have given me so many opportunities to develop my full potential as a leader.
