Howard Shockey, a master carpenter, opens a wagon-repair business in Winchester, VA. The business quickly grows to become a thriving general contracting firm.
Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc.
Howard’s two sons join the business, which builds both residential and commercial structures. The company becomes known as Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc.
Shockey Bros., Inc. Enters Precast Concrete Market
The company adds a precast concrete manufacturing division known as Shockey Bros, Inc., which becomes one of the first subcontractors to build precast parking decks in VA.
The Shockey Precast Group
Shockey Bros., Inc. becomes The Shockey Precast Group and goes on to become a leader and trusted partner in the construction of precast concrete parking structures, sports facilities, warehouses, and office buildings.
Shockey Precast Enters the Precast Data Center Market
The Shockey Precast Group completes its first data center. Over the following 20 years, the company constructs more than 10 million square feet of total precast data center shell space and becomes the leader of the data center market in Northern Virginia.
Westward Expansion
The Shockey Precast Group builds a remote plant in Utah to complete an 800,000 SF confidential data center project, the company’s first project west of the Mississippi.
