An Award of Excellence winner in the 2025 ACI Georgia Chapter Awards, Mission Road Elementary School is a testament to the power of design in shaping the future of education. Situated directly adjacent to the existing school, the new facility addresses the needs of a rapidly growing community while honoring its rich legacy. The design team prioritized innovative solutions to overcome challenges and achieve project goals. By integrating small break-out areas and collaboration zones, the school fosters student-centered learning and prepares students for the 21st century. The strategic use of color enhances wayfinding and creates a vibrant, stimulating environment. Outdoor courtyards extend learning beyond the classroom, promoting physical activity and environmental awareness. The projected ROI and long-term savings demonstrate the project’s financial viability and commitment to sustainability.
