The third office tower in Charlotte’s Legacy Union development, 855 South Mint Street is a 24-story, 850,000-SF office building that’s the first of its size in Charlotte. Located adjacent to Bank of America Stadium and selected by Honeywell Corporation for its corporate headquarters, the building boasts a double-height ground floor level, which includes Honeywell’s lobby, retail, and restaurant space. Twelve levels of secure employee parking rise above the ground level, with ten floors of office space above the parking levels. The structure is capped with a double-height, all-glass penthouse that includes a visitor center with reception and entertainment space.
The architecture of 855 South Mint Street reflects the industrial/mill character prevalent in the surrounding South End neighborhood. The simple brick-focused facade echoes the architectural precedent established in the earlier Legacy Union structures while also paying tribute to the industrial history of the site. Metromont produced 94,493 SF of architectural precast cladding with cast-in thin brick for the project at its Greenville, SC plant. The architectural precast cladding gives the building a Class A style look and was completed in just 8 months.
The Honeywell Headquarters at Legacy Union III was awarded Top Office Development in the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2023 Heavy Hitters Awards.
