Metromont is setting the bar for total precast, design-build mixed-use office and parking garage space in Florida with the Heritage Plaza project in Lakeland.
In a unique twist, four clients joined forces to fund the construction of Heritage Plaza in the heart of downtown Lakeland. The Plaza includes a six-level parking garage with convenient entrance access on both Tennessee and Kentucky Avenues along with 40,000 sq ft of attached tenant space.
The existing office building ties into the new garage with a bridge connecting the two structures. The use of precast concrete allows the structure to be constructed quickly with minimal site disturbance, which was a key factor in selecting a building system due to the urban site and surrounding buildings.
The building’s exterior façade is comprised of integral colored concrete with sandblast finishes and thin-set brick. Metal canopies and screening accent the exterior, blending with the city’s architecture.
