An American Concrete Institute Georgia Chapter 2021 Award of Excellence winner in the Mid-Rise category, the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) Administrative Support Office Building I is an eight-level mid-rise structure located at the Children’s Healthcare North Druid Hills campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first of two new administrative buildings constructed at that location as part of CHOA’s new Support Center, the office building was constructed from cast-in-place concrete with 62,800-SF of 10” thick architectural precast concrete cladding produced by Metromont’s Hiram, GA manufacturing facility, and features an exterior façade with thin brick and a wood texture form liner.
The administrative buildings house all CHOA’s support staff and provide a workplace with open floorplans and amenities such as staff dining, fitness center, coffee shop, employee health clinic, and outdoor meeting spaces. The Support Center offers new opportunities for increased collaboration and efficiency for CHOA employees, and its completion is the first step in an expansion plan that includes a new hospital at the North Druid Hills Campus. Congratulations to our Hiram team and to the entire project team!
