Metromont Project Details

Project Overview

The TD Bank Campus (formerly Carolina First) was planned as a recognizable and environmentally sustainable corporate campus on a 65-acre brownfield site.

The client set out to achieve a strong visual identity along the bordering I-85 corridor. The zoned site plan accommodates over 1 million square feet of corporate development. Initial planning work provides for 4 office buildings and the conference dining facility.

High priority was given during design to incorporating recycled as well as regionally produced materials. Special water conservation, rainwater harvesting, plant palette and sustainable site materials were all key components of the project’s LEED AP objectives.

"Metromont’s team embraced our idea and got their whole team on board. It’s one thing for sales managers to want to make architects happy, but to have the plant manager, the finishing crew foreman and engineers fully engaged is something else. Metromont was extremely cooperative – the project was a win-win for everyone.”
