Located in Miami, FL, on over 9 acres of land, Palmer Lakes Logistics Center is the first multistory industrial warehouse in South Florida. The Class A, LEED certified three-story precast concrete building provides much needed storage, loading bays, offices, and parking spaces for our client.
Metromont’s Bartow manufacturing plant produced 564,190 SF of precast concrete for this project, and the warehouse totals almost 970,000 SF.
Parking is accessible on all levels of the distribution center and seamlessly wraps around the offices and warehouse space. The use of precast provides exceptional durability, provides long clear spans, and allows the structure to transition from an office to a parking garage to a warehouse space with ease.
The north and south sides of the warehouse are designated for parking and have clearance for 15-ft vehicles on the ground level and 14-ft on the upper levels, while the warehouse maintains a 32-ft clearance height. On the west and east ends are offices and relaxation areas. The third level, the roof, is for van parking, and has a canopy to shield against the intense Florida sun.
Bright yellow metal screens add an element of fun to the gray concrete façade of the building. Precast concrete wall panels serve as both the structural and architectural building envelope. The interior concrete wythe is left exposed, reducing onsite trades.
